PEP Chess Club

PEP Chess Club

The PEP Chess Club held its first trial class in December 2024 and officially launched in January 2025. The club was founded by Frankie Ma, Raymond Tu, and Samuel Zhang to create a space where students and chess enthusiasts can learn, practice, and connect with others through the game.

The club welcomes beginners who are learning chess for the first time and supports experienced players who want to improve their skills. Through weekly classes, students learn chess strategies, practice with peers, and develop problem-solving skills in a supportive environment.

Since its launch, the PEP Chess Club has completed two terms of classes, with each term consisting of 10 sessions. The club has also hosted two chess tournaments, giving students opportunities to apply their skills and compete in a friendly setting.

The club currently serves more than 20 students with the support of over 20 volunteers. Through the dedication of its founders, instructors, and volunteers, the PEP Chess Club continues to provide students with opportunities to learn, compete, and build connections through chess.
