The PEP Chess Club held its first trial class in December 2024 and officially started its first

class in January 2025. 

The club was founded by Frankie Ma, Raymond Tu, and Samuel Zhang. They started this club to provide a place for chess lovers to play with real people, teach beginners who don’t know anything about chess, and help players who want to improve their skills.

So far, the club has successfully completed two terms of classes, with each term consisting of 10 classes. They have also successfully held two tournaments. Currently, there are over 20 students in the Chess Club and more than 20 volunteers helping out.
